Letter to:
Charles Moore, Esq.,
The Daily Telegraph.
Dear Mr. Moore,
I wanted to ask you if you think that The Daily Telegraph has been doing enough to counter the triumphalist propaganda and media domination of Alex Salmond and the SNP?
I was astonished that the far-Left, anti-monarchist Scottish Socialist Party was invited to share a platform with the SNP (whose leader claims that he supports the Crown, and whose Deputy Leader insists that independence will not mean “separation”!)
It seems that the newspapers generally did not really pick up on this point, and have been content to let Salmond gain the upper hand. I wonder what the response from the media would have been if, say, a Tory-backed referendum campaign had included the BNP as one if its partners!
I feel that the Telegraph ought to do more to “expose” the SNP – a notional “national” party, which welcomes large-scale immigration, and seems saturated by general political-correctness. The SNP also supports “independence within Europe” and – despite saying that they wish to remain in sterling (pity they can’t remain in Stirling!) their ultimate aim is a sort of Scottish left-of-centre republic, run from Brussels.
I wonder if you could use your considerable influence to bring about a more robust editorial line on this issue – in defence of the United Kingdom and true Scottish nationhood?
Yours sincerely,
Stuart Millson
